Which paper GSM should you choose?
What 75, 85, 100, 130, 170 and 300 GSM feel like for notes, resumes, posters, cards and thesis insides — matched to Printvity paper options.
GSM is weight, not size
GSM means grams per square metre. Higher GSM feels thicker. Size (A4, A5, A3) is separate — you pick both in Print Store.
Everyday documents: 75–85 GSM
Standard copier-weight paper. Fine for notes, drafts, homework and most thesis insides. Double-sided printing on 75 GSM can show a little ink through; 85 GSM reduces that.
Resumes and client packs: 100 GSM
Noticeably stiffer in the hand. Use for CVs, proposals and short colour reports. Still a text paper, not card.
Brochures, posters and photos: 130–170 GSM
Coated stocks in this range hold colour. Flyers often sit at the low end; posters and photo prints at 170 GSM. Export artwork at 300 dpi where you can.
Cards: 300 GSM
Visiting cards and certificates need board, not text paper. 300 GSM is the usual visiting-card snap.
